A historical journey through the Halden Canal

The Halden Canal is Norway's oldest canal and stretches over 80 kilometers from Skulerud in the north to Tistedal in the south. The canal was built to facilitate timber transport in the early 19th century and has now become a popular destination for both locals and tourists. The most impressive parts of the canal are the narrow sections such as Stenselva and Tordivelen, and the Brekke locks, which are Europe's highest continuous lock staircase with a lift height of 26.7 meters.

When you travel with MS Brekke, you get to see this historic waterway from its best perspective. A canal cruise takes you through old lock sites like Krappeto, and historical sites where you can enjoy the tranquil atmosphere and beautiful nature that surrounds the canal.

MS Brekke – a boat with soul and history

MS Brekke was built in 1965 in Germany under the name Wappen von Maasholm and has been sailing in the Halden Canal since 1985.

With space for 93 passengers, an indoor lounge, a covered deck and an open sun deck, the boat is perfect for a variety of events. The boat has a maritime style that is perfect for a canal cruise through Norway's oldest canal system.
